Multilingual publishing

Translated product information must have the same look and feel, and the same level of quality, across all supported languages: these documents reflect the brand values of your company, influencing the way your product is perceived.

At Cogen, an automated process extracts the content to be translated from the source format or layout. After translation, review, QA and validation, this manages the flow of the translated text back into the original template, preserving the required style.

This enhances the consistency of product documentation across all markets and reduces project costs: optimization of the layout or file structure only needs to be done once - to the source document - for the benefits to ripple across all of the translations.

All published documents go through a rigorous QA check. Part of this process is automated - a software application compares content length, content segment number, figures, formatting in the source and target languages. The final QA step applies a second pair of eyes.

Once the format and content have been merged again, desktop publishing specialists will finalize the translated layout - unilingual or multilingual - according to your specifications and graphic guidelines. They will then generate PostScript or .pdf files for online or print publication.

Cogen's DTP specialists manage all formats and languages, including European, double-byte Asian and bidirectional languages such as Hebrew or Arabic.

If required, they can re-master an original document from one desktop publishing package into another, or from a paper copy to an electronic one. They can also develop a unilingual document into a multilingual one, or build one manual from several.
