What Cogen stands for…
“C” is for Creative Responsiveness
“I work in an exciting field that is forever changing. This means Cogen and I can win, only if we understand developments in our business and our customer’s business. Therefore, we have to redesign and adapt our business processes to match. I enjoy it because I’m constantly learning new things.
Therefore, for me, change is welcome; handling it properly and profiting from it is the only path to success. My management always encourages me to forget how I did things yesterday and explore new ways of tackling problems. I try not only to respond, but to anticipate as well – experimenting, testing and stretching things to the limit. I do of course fail from time to time. But I learn from my mistakes. How does the customer benefit? I am always up to speed with changes in his business and probably in advance of some developments. I am a proactive partner, committed to being the best.”
“O” is for Ownership
“I work for a financially autonomous company that wants to preserve its independence and the freedom to make its own decisions. That means it’s a business that has to grow; not only in revenue and profit, but also in the value of its assets. And the biggest asset we have is our brainpower.
So I must make sure I constantly update my knowledge of the business, pooling my strengths with my colleagues, – helping each other to grow. I am aware of my potential value and contribution. I have confidence in my abilities and take full ownership of everything I do as an accountable business partner to our customers. I propose and defend new ideas. So the customer gets a partner not a “yes man”. The buck stops here!”
“R” is for Respect
“I am not just an employee and a “supplier” to my customer. I am an integral part of a business partnership between Cogen and its clients… my clients. As a stakeholder, I demand respect for my work, my contribution, my ideas and my value as a person and I give respect in return.
This entails being honest about what I am able and not able to do. Saying how I feel about situations and being willing to admit my mistakes. The customer and I respect each other and communicate on the same level. He will always get the best job from someone who both respects him and feels valued by him.”
“E” is for Excellence
“Globalization and the Internet provide unlimited choice for everyone, regardless of geography, and this means that only the very best products and services will survive. The company is looking for excellence in everything it does. I expect the same quest for excellence from our customers too.
They are the purpose of my work, the fun and the excitement of it. As a stakeholder in the company, I must strive for excellence, improving myself and helping improve the service we deliver. The customer and I have a bond. He knows that the work I do for him will be the very best I can do. I am my strongest critic and my only benchmark is excellence.”
I work for Cogen. I work for my Customer.
