02/2008 : Cogen releases CTM, a new Translation Memory tool
The new CTM translation memory structure helps reduce translation budgets and project turnaround times, and increases the relevance of content re-use from translation memory data bases.
CTM comes with a number of interesting new features:
Any language stored in the Translation Memory (including double-byte languages) can now be used as source language.
This allows all variations of content searches and increases content re-use when working with international teams and using multiple authoring languages.
It also returns more results from terminology searches in the Translation Memory.
CTM accelerates translation memory accesses: it removes duplicate content segments and so, drastically reduces the amount of content to be processed.
CTM allows advanced, more refined searches in the Translation Memory. It allows to specify search critera as:
The review status of the content segments (not reviewed, reviewed once or several times)
Metadata such as a product range name, a company division, etc.
The date at which a content segment was stored in the Translation Memory
The originator of a content segment, for perfect traceability when using several language service providers
The identification of the content reviewer
CTM converts content pairs that contain figure, markup, casing and punctuation differences into full matches, re-usable free of charge.
All functionalities of earlier TM versions, such as full Unicode support and full compatibility with TMX, the translation memory exchange standard, are maintained.
CTM has a direct impact on translation project efficiency:
It reduces translation budgets and translation project turnaround times
It enhances the quality and relevance of translation memory re-use, by refining the search criteria
