Cogen is a provider of translation and multilingual publishing services, and a team of consultants who can help make your translation workflows more efficient.
40 people sharing a passion for language and technology.
Our goal is to help you communicate worldwide about how your products contribute to making people's lives easier, safer, healthier and more interesting.
Our passion and skill is technology applied to languages: we enjoy putting technology to work to make translations more economical, more reliable, and faster.
Because we understand that you operate in a competitive environment, under extreme time-to-market (or time-to-audience) demands and cost pressure.
Our team is driven by a strong company culture, and a set of values that govern all their relationships with the company's stakeholders.
The company was founded in 1980 and is located in Nivelles, Belgium. Sales offices operate in France and in Germany.
Cogen's mission statement, as detailed in our Quality Manual, is:
To be a valued, long-term, preferred partner to our customers in the manufacturing and medical industries, and to help them create their multilingual product information as cost- and time-efficiently as possible.
We would like to be valued for four key competencies:
- Providing excellent translation services
- Appreciation of the changing needs of customers
- Offering solutions for multilingual product information creation (translation environment tools as well as project management tools and processes)
- Providing attentive customer care
We want to be a preferred employer, which:
- Offers interesting work and pleasant surroundings
- Creates harmonious and respectful relationships
- Demands intellectual effort and creative contribution
- Practices integrity, fairness and citizenship
Our goal is to remain a financially independent company, growing organically at a sustainable rate, and staying true to its values and culture.
Our citizenship program:
From 1999, Cogen has donated whenever possible the sum it would have spent on Christmas gifts to a charitable organization.
The charitable organization is carefully chosen each year by our board of directors, sometimes based on the proposal of a staff member. The beneficiary is always Belgian and non-political.
So far, we have donated to:
- Child Focus, helping prevent child abuse and abduction
- Jour après Jour, working to make the lives of children hospitalized with cancer more bearable
- Famille d'Accueil Odile Henri, helping find foster families for children whose parents are in crisis
- Princess Elizabeth Antarctic Station, aiding research on climate change and global warming
- Swim for Life, helping to organize summer camps for children with AIDS
